Using the Recording Application |
| |
The following is small guide for using the Recording Software, including a list of known bugs that are being addressed but should be known. |
How can I record the VOIP Output? |
| |
| |
There are 2 options to accomplish this: |
| |
Option 1: You can purchase an inexpensive audio cable such as the one shown below: |
| |
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
Option 2: Purchase a Sound Card with 'Wave Out' Compatibility or check your Sound Card to see if you already support 'Wave Out' |
| |
|
 |
|
| |
| If your sound card settings do not show 'Wave Out' or 'Wave Mix Out' in the controls checkboxes, your sound card DOES NOT SUPPORT WAVE OUT. You will need to obtain a sound card that supports WAVE OUT or use option 1 above to record the VOIP audio from other users besides yourself in a meeting. |

Recommended Usage: |
| |
- WMV = Windows Media Video – This format is approximately 1MB per minute output but is only viewable on Windows machines.
|
| |
- AVI = Standard Audio Video Interleave – This format is the standard, raw video most players can view. (Warning: Using Uncompressed, full quality video can yield extremely large file sizes!)
|
| |
| - Record in WMV for long recordings |
| 30fps (10fps if viewing video streams) |
| Cannot adjust quality in WMV |
|
| - Record in AVI if you cant view WMV |
| 30fps (10fps if viewing video streams) |
| Set slider to 80-100% quality |
|
|
| |
- Set the quality to recommended range or you may experience fuzzy output |
| |
- Pause the recording briefly and start again whenever possible to allow the video to sync |
| |
- Always play the video in full screen mode to see its actual quality. |
| |
You can expect a normal file size range output of the following: |
| WMV: 1-30 mins = ~30mb or 1mb per minute normally 1+ hours = ~100mb+ |
| AVI: 1-20 mins = ~60mb (compressed) ~160mb (uncompressed) |
| (AVI is NOT recommended as it produces extremely large file sizes) |
| |
Please Note: |
- Some system icons (i.e mycomputer and mynetworkplaces) may turn grey randomly during recording, they will return to normal when recording is stopped. |
- The mouse may move jerky during recording, this is normal and is being looked at. |
- Currently MAC based systems cannot playback formats |
