More and more small businesses are getting involved in video conferencing - and there's never been a better time for it, writes InformationWeek's Paul Korzeniowski.
The price of installing a video conferencing system has gotten less expensive as the technology has become more ubiquitous, says Korzeniowski. Investing in a video conferencing solution is now not only affordable for small businesses, but extremely cost-effective. The money that these enterprises can save by replacing travel costs with video conferencing can pay for the system in a matter of years, if not months.
Historically, bandwidth concerns have stood in the way of small businesses adopting video conferencing. That worry is a thing of the past, however. Bandwidth prices have fallen, and videos can now be compressed into much smaller files.
Korzeniowski also writes that improved video quality and simplified systems are a boon to small businesses who may not have the IT resources to support an enormous video conferencing suite.
Video conferencing can be a great investment for businesses of any size. The range of video conferencing options available is now so extensive that no type of business is forgotten - there is an affordable video conferencing solution available no matter what a business needs.
