Live webinar to be held to educate caregivers about caretaker burnout

Friday, April 13 2012

Home Care Assistance (HCA) is an organization dedicated to providing educational resources to family caregivers, and North America's leading provider of in-home care for senior citizens. Next month, HCA will be using video conferencing technology to host a live webinar to teach beneficial and preventive techniques to reduce the rate of caretaker burnout.

As many baby boomers reach retirement, the percentage of the nation over 65 will increase at an accelerated rate. However, few are prepared for the high-stress and mental exhaustion that caretaking can create, which is why HCA is finding it crucial to hold the webinar.

On Tuesday, May 1st at 2:00 p.m. eastern time, Dr. Jennifer Hoblyn, professor at the Stanford University School of Medicine, will host the webinar "Caregiver Burnout and How to Protect Your Health." In the video conference, Hoblyn will provide tips that caretakers can implement to improve their own physical health, including relaxation and de-stressing strategies, as well as advice on how to efficiently provide care for their ailing loved ones.
