The National League of Cities will use a short series of webinars to address the issues of medicinal marijuana and mortgage finance, and how they relate to local government.
The webinars - which will air later this month - will be conducted by the organization's Finance, Administration and Intergovenmental Relations committee.
"As everyone is tightening their belts during these challenging times, we are excited to use low-cost webinar technology to study these issues," said David Hooks, vice chair of the FAIR Committee. "The FAIR committee can get the information it needs to discuss policy while the entire NLC family can learn simultaneously about these issues."
After all of the webinars, presenters will take time for questions and answers. The NLC says that all of the broadcasts will also archived online to allow users to view them later.
Using webinars offers companies and organizations a much lower-cost solution than traditional meetings. Businessknowledgesource.com says that webinars can cost less than 25 cents a minute - resulting in an average savings of 75 percent of event hosting costs.
