The growth of hosted web conferencing services is helping fuel the growth of small businesses in India and throughout Asia, according to CIOL.com
The site reports that the immediacy of web conferencing has allowed companies to exchange information quickly, making it easier to bring products to the market, eliminate many sales and service calls and reducing funds spent on travel.
The use of Software-as-a-Service products allows smaller companies to compete with larger firms without having to make a significant financial outlay to purchase software and equipment as they launch a new service.
The site also found that web conferencing allows companies to hold more face-to-face meetings with customers because both sides had reduced time commitments, allowing them to develop better relationships with their customers.
Revenue trends from the region bear out that growing trend. A Frost and Sullivan report late last year said that web conferencing in the Asia-Pacific region would grow 27 percent both this year and in 2011, and bring in more than $390 million by the end of 2014.
