Power company using webinars to promote energy efficiency

Pennsylvania-based power company PPL is promoting a pair of webinars aimed at helping small business owners reduce their energy consumption.

The webinars will give business owners information on the utility company's various e-power programs that can help them reduce their electric bills, such as system tune-ups and rebates for those who buy energy-efficient equipment. The programs will also include time for company officials to take questions.

"Customers can pick from one of two dates and get valuable information without having to leave their offices. This is a virtual town meeting of sorts on energy efficiency. We're excited to be able to offer it," said Ray W. Murphy, manager of Major Accounts for PPL Electric Utilities.

The Morning Call reports that 80 businesses have already signed up for the first webinar.

PPL's e-power program offers energy-saving rebates and tips for businesses, industrial facilities and households. In addition to appliance rebates and other standard programs, customers can also get money back if they repair an inefficient heating or cooling system or change a manufacturing process to reduce energy consumption.ADNFCR-3295-ID-19842481-ADNFCR
