Fundraising professionals from around the globe will convene, via webinar, to learn how to make social networking work in their fundraising goals.
On October 28, Development Dialogues will host a webinar titled "Fundraising and Social Networking: Making It All Work" live at 1 p.m. ET. The session will feature Ted Hart, a globally renowned expert in both online and traditional fundraising and the CEO of Hart Philanthropic Services.
The webinar is geared towards development and annual giving professionals in the healthcare industry, but may also be beneficial for nonprofits and educational institutions. The event is taking place near the end of the year to aid organizations that are hoping to add a strong year-end finish to their fundraising efforts.
Development Dialogue provides continuing education e-seminars for professionals in the health care and nonprofit sectors.
Social media networking has been an increasingly popular tool for the healthcare, education and nonprofit fields. Edgar Diaz, project specialist for the Memorial Hospital Health System in Indiana, told the South Bend Tribune Business Weekly that 850 of the 5,000 to 6,000 hospitals in the United States were using social media in August, up from 250 in May 2009.
“Millions of people use social media every day to build relationships, to connect,” he said. “If we want to be invited into that conversation, we have to be in the room, on the site, so to speak."
