Telemedicine provider is using video conferencing to employ veterans

Telemedicine provider MD247 is using video conferencing technology as a way to offer employment to 50 veterans who have served in any branch of United States Armed Services as part of their new "Hiring our Heroes" campaign.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the current rate of unemployment among veterans who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan rose to 12.1 in 2011 which is up from its previous number of 11.5 in 2010. The high rate of unemployment has prompted government incentives that encourage employers to help get retired service members financially stable such as tax credits and relief.

After recent discussions with veterans groups, MD247 noticed the struggling job market for retired service members upon return left many often looking outside their area of expertise.

All jobs offered during the "Hiring our Heroes" campaign will be directly associated with either the MD247 healthcare administrative team, or the call center staffing.

Video conferencing technology has been shown to cut overall operational expenses for many companies by reducing unnecessary travel costs and increasing productivity and work flow.
