A webinar on insurance developments in China, hosted by A.M. Best, is now available for video playback on their website free of charge.
A.M. Best, a worldwide insurance-rating and information agency, hosted the event on October 19.
Panelists in the discussion, who also participated in a question-and-answer portion, were Moungmo Lee, General Manager; Billy Kwan, managing senior financial analyst; Stella Ng, managing senior financial analyst; and Yvette Essen, head of market analysis for A.M. Best Europe.
The webinar supports a report recently published by A.M. Best about insurance and reinsurance developments entitled, "China Life & Non-Life - Market Review. China: A Dangerous Wind or An Opportunity? A.M. Best's Perspective."
There are both English and Chinese versions of the report available.
The webinar delves into the Chinese economy, one of the world's fastest growing, and how the last two years have affected it. Through it all, the life and non-life insurance sectors have grown strongly, a sign of the increased wealth of citizens and perhaps their growing awareness of the benefits of insurance, according to the report.
According to Economy Watch, the Chinese economy has averaged an eight percent growth in its gross domestic product each year for the last 30 years. In that period, their economy has grown more than 10 times.
